Community Hub design revealed

Thank you to everyone for your input on the new Community Hub, it’s now a step closer with a beautiful brand new design.

Monmouthshire architects Hall + Bednarczyk have produced a design inspired by our local area and your ideas.

The cutting-edge design will make the most of our communal space, including split-level rooms that will create both a stage and separate areas for classes, groups and activities.

The design will be submitted for planning permission in February with the outcome hopefully expected by June.

On with the show!

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when the curtain fell on our Moulin Rouge film night in November.

Baz Lurhmann’s musical masterpiece and the animation of Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox proved popular choices for our pop-up cinema.

January’s film was Mamma Mia, during which everyone sang better than Pierce Brosnan! Once the bar and sausage sales had been taken into account, the event raised £100 for the RVHA funds.

Don’t worry if you missed out, our next films are:

To mark the end of our winter season of films our April film will start with a Curry Night to get everyone in the mood.

We’ll get the popcorn and poppadum’s ready!

Raise a glass

A packed Prosecco night raised a fizz-whizzing £275 for the RVHA in November.

Hosted by Charlotte and James Exton at their Raglan shop, the festive event featured generously discounted Christmas shopping, bubbly and delicious nibbles.

Charlotte invited Simone McCartney’s Avon business, Fiona Marr with ‘Bead Nomad’s creative upcyled jewellery, Colour Consultant Karen Groves and Lucy Christine Edwards’ Little Barn Bakes.

To everyone who came along and to Charlotte and James for the brilliant support – cheers!

Top table sale

Our Christmas Table Top Sale in December wrapped up raising £170.

All the tables were full to bursting with bargains and the community brunch was well attended.

Thanks to all the volunteers who made warming soup and manned the café.

Father Christmas put in a special appearance and was very popular, so thank you to 1st Raglan Guides for managing the queues!
