Community Hub December fundraising update

We’d hoped to have some good news to share with you before Christmas, but unfortunately we have just heard that our bid to the Big Lottery People and Places fund has been unsuccessful. We were up against some £4.6m of projects in poorer areas of Wales, and they took priority.

We still need to thank the Lottery for the £50k of support they have already given us. Added to community fundraising and other successful applications we’ve made, plus the value of the junior school site, adds up to nearly £237,000 raised so far.

The journey continues

Although we’re disappointed at this set back, this isn’t the end of the project. We are still working on other applications to a variety of different funders and looking at other finance options. Monmouthshire County council are still being very supportive, and we are also hopeful there will be another more suitable Lottery grant available in the Spring.

Thanks for all your continued support, will keep you posted as we get more news!

We hope you will join us this Saturday (9 December) afternoon in Raglan Old Church School between 3-5pm to start the festive season with a glass of mulled wine and some tea and cakes.
