Fundraising for the hub build begins

We’ve started work on raising the capital costs needed to build Raglan’s Community Hub after the project reached the milestone of full planning permission in June.

Our first and largest funding application for £499,000 to the Big Lottery Fund has now been submitted. The application represents almost half of the estimated £1.2m capital cost needed for the build. A decision is expected in around six months time, so we’re keeping everything crossed!

Thanks to everyone who helped produce the 304 pages and 29 documents that we needed, and a grateful thank you to Jonathan Mills and Allens Printers for rescuing us when our printer gave out.

Now that the latest Big Lottery Fund application is in, we’re planning further submissions to other funders including the Welsh Government to raise the estimated £1.2m total build cost.

Our partners Monmouthshire County Council will transfer the former Raglan Junior School site into our ownership once all funding has been secured.
